"EC145 T2: a new benchmark for HEMS" -VIDEO

On the occasion of the ceremony of delivery of the first aircraft, Helipress talked with Volker Bau, the chief test pilot of the new light twin engine helicopter

The interest around the new helicopter EC145 T2 is now at the peak. After the delivery of the first rotorcraft, which took place last week in the factory of Airbus Helicopters in Donauworth (Germany), the european aeromedical community is waiting for the new light twin to test its potential in the field.

The enthusiasm, of course, is even easier to perceive in the key figures who participated in the project from the very beginning and have seen literally born and grow the latest evolution of one of Eurocopter's most successful helicopters. One of these figures is undoubtedly Volker Bau, the chief test pilot of the new helicopter that has talked to Helipress (video below) on the occasion of the ceremony of delivery of the first aircraft.

The career of the EC 145 T2 has just begun: the helicopter will have a hard task, replacing the legendary BK117 (and of course his older brother EC145).
